We Were Almost There

He walked on you,

whispered the sweetest words

            you could ever hear,

held your hand so tight

and it felt like he’s never letting go…

You found such sweet bliss,

Found yourself in seventh heaven,

No one to stop you

            to rejoice cherubic happiness…

No one could stop you ever…

You looked at him, finally saw it in his eyes,

the kind of love you’ve ever found all your life.

Little did he know how glad you were

When he walks towards you

            and stays right there…

But things went so slow,

And both of you became so presumptuous…

Decided that both of you

            shouldn’t be together,

Yet should stay this way forever…

And suddenly, you felt wrong,

“How could these things be here all along?

I’ve cheated my feelings and now I’ve mistaken,

I was the person who had

            hurt me before he bruised me,

Now I’m crying in agony…”

And just like other stories,

Yours has to end…

Both of you had loosen grip,

Both of you ceased the trip.

And now it’s over…

It’s nice to think back and remember,

that both of you were almost there…
